How we do our mindful mid year check in

Are You Still Aligned With Your New Year’s Resolutions? What would make the rest of this year meaningful for me?

Remember those goals you set back in January?

Maybe you wrote them down in a journal or was it more a quiet hope that this year would be different.

Well, we’re halfway through the year. Which makes this the perfect time to pause, reflect, and ask yourself:

How’s it going, really?

This isn’t about guilt or self-criticism. It’s about reconnection, checking in with the intentions you set for yourself and seeing what still resonates, what’s shifted, and what needs a reset.

Reflect Through 7 Life Areas

If your goals touch different parts of your life, here’s a helpful framework to check in holistically:

  • Health – What changes have you made that are helping you meet your physical habits or wellness goals?

  • Family – Are you showing up the way you intended?

  • Mental/Intellectual – Have you been learning, growing, expanding?

  • Social – Are you investing in the right relationships?

  • Financial – Are you on track with saving, spending, or simplifying?

Use these as lenses to assess your year so far, and spot where to course-correct. And remember you might find some goals that no longer make sense. That’s okay. Letting go is part of growth. Maybe you’re not failing, maybe you’re evolving.

This is your invitation to realign with what matters now, not just what mattered in January.

Set aside some quiet time. If you journaled or wrote down your goals, revisit it now. Grab a notebook and start considering the following questions…

1. What goals or intentions did I set in January?

Write them down again. Be honest, which ones still feel alive and relevant?

2. What have I made progress on?

Celebrate it. Big or small. Acknowledge what effort, consistency, or courage it took.

3. What hasn’t moved? and why?

Be curious, not critical. Were your expectations realistic? Did other priorities take over? Has the goal lost meaning? If you weren’t consistent, why not?

4. What’s changed in me or in my life?

Sometimes the year reveals new information. Maybe you're not where you expected, but you're where you needed to be. Let that count.

5. Where do I want to focus in the next six months?

Choose 1–3 priorities that feel authentic and energising. Let go of what’s no longer aligned.

Once you have drafted your answers chat about them with someone, talking it out often brings unexpected clarity. We are always here to hear about it!
